Citat:This year brings a premiere for Otaku Festival, with the help of our friends and partners from the Romanian-Japanese Studies Center Angela Hondru. We are happy to announce that you will have the chance to talk to the Japanese manga artist Daichi Kawada about manga and the process of manga drawing. Be sure not to miss this opportunity!

Daichi Kawada is a young Japanese manga artist, born in the Tochigi Prefecture in 1984. Ever since he was a child, he had an affinity for art. He was 16 when he won the Special Prize of the Jury at Shueisha Weekly Shounen Jump Tenkaichi Manga Award. In 2014, he publishes the manga called Makaroni Switch in the manga magazine Haruta of the Kadokawa publishing company. Starting with the spring of 2015, Macaroni Switch will be serialized monthly.

In 2003, he signs up for the Wadaiko team from Tama Art University. After graduation, he becomes an employee at the Miyamoto Unosuke Shouten company which is over 150 years old. Besides the fact that he manufactures wadaiko, Kawada-san holds wadaiko concerts and also has a great passion for manga and illustrations. We are surely happy to have him among the guests!

E departe de a reprezenta ceva in domeniu.
Probabil o sa trec pe la Otaku sa vad lumea, I have no interest in anything there.
Otaku Festival is more lika Cosplay Festival.

Samurai & Ninja Experience at Otaku Festival 2015

This year, Japan is brilliantly represented at Otaku Festival. Not only in the realms of cosplay and manga, but also in that of performing arts. On May 9th, courtesy of our friends and partners from the Romanian-Japanese Studies Center - Angela Hondru, you'll have the opportunity to watch an exquisite performance by the members of Japan Tatedou Association, who will hold a show combining Japanese martial arts with stunts. They are coming from Osaka and they are eager to offer the Romanian audience a taste of a veritable samurai & ninja experience.

The Japan Tatedou Association was established in 2004, in Osaka. Its purpose is to teach those interested about Tatedou and what the Samurai experience really means in aspects like Japanese etiquette, power of expression and soul harmony.

Unlocking Sewing Patterns

Coordinator: Andreea Ciohodaru//Duration: 1.5 h//Age category: 16+//Participants: 20//Difficulty: Beginner-intermediate

In sewing and fashion design, a pattern is the template from which the parts of a garment are traced onto the fabric before being cut out and assembled. In cosplay, we all use patterns, one way or another.

[Imagine: sewing_patterns_otaku_festival_2015_02.jpg]

Even though the world of patterns is complex, this workshop's purpose is to show you the simple steps to understanding it. Andreea aka Keiko will teach you how a pattern works, where you can get it from, standard pattern symbols, how to choose your pattern, and how to adjust it to your body.
